Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Hammered Handyman Media handles personal information when you use Chad P.D. Chee. We aim to collect and use only information reasonably needed to operate, secure, improve, and support the Service.
1. Who is responsible for your information
Hammered Handyman Media operates Chad P.D. Chee from Ontario, Canada. Privacy questions, access requests, correction requests, deletion requests, or complaints can be sent to our privacy contact at [email protected].
2. Who may use the Service
Chad P.D. Chee accounts are intended for people age 18 and older. We do not knowingly offer accounts to children. If you believe a person under 18 has created an account or provided personal information, contact us.
3. Information we collect
Account information
If you create an account, we collect information such as your email address, optional display name, password credentials in protected hashed form, verification status, consent records, and account/session information needed to authenticate you.
Conversation and project information
We process the questions and other text you submit, Chad's responses, saved conversation titles, conversation history, and sharing information necessary to provide conversation memory, saved projects, and share links.
Technical and security information
We may process technical information needed to operate and protect the Service, such as IP-derived security identifiers, browser/session identifiers, cookies, timestamps, rate-limit information, error information, and security events. Where practical, identifiers may be hashed or otherwise transformed rather than stored in directly identifying form.
Usage and product interaction information
We may record limited usage events such as page views, questions answered, usage-limit events, new conversations, shopping-list generation, and interactions with product or video links. We design our analytics to avoid unnecessarily placing the text of your questions into analytics event records.
Marketing choices
If we offer optional marketing communications, your marketing choice is separate from the information necessary to provide your account. You can decline optional marketing without losing ordinary account functionality.
4. Why we use information
We use personal information for purposes such as creating and authenticating accounts; verifying email addresses; resetting passwords; providing conversations and conversation memory; saving, retrieving, exporting, deleting and sharing projects; enforcing usage limits; preventing abuse and securing the Service; troubleshooting; measuring basic service usage; providing support; and complying with applicable legal obligations.
5. AI processing
Your questions and relevant conversation context may be sent to an AI service provider so Chad can generate responses. Because AI systems can make mistakes, do not put passwords, payment-card numbers, government identification numbers, private medical records, or other highly sensitive information into a Chad conversation unless it is genuinely necessary and you understand the risks.
6. Service providers and cross-border processing
We use service providers to operate Chad P.D. Chee. These may include cloud hosting and database infrastructure, AI processing, email delivery, bot/abuse protection, and web infrastructure. Current providers may include DigitalOcean for application/database hosting, OpenAI for AI processing, Resend for transactional email, and Cloudflare Turnstile for bot and abuse protection.
Some providers may process or store information outside Ontario or outside Canada. Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of that jurisdiction.
7. Cookies and similar technology
We use cookies or similar browser storage where needed for functions such as secure login sessions, visitor identification, conversation continuity, security, rate limiting, and user-interface state. Some security providers may also use technical mechanisms needed to distinguish legitimate users from automated abuse.
8. Sharing your conversations
When you intentionally create a share link, anyone who receives that active link may be able to view the shared conversation without logging in. Share links use a separate random token rather than intentionally exposing your internal conversation identifier.
You can use the Stop Sharing control to revoke the active link. Revocation cannot erase copies that another person already downloaded, copied, forwarded, screenshotted, or otherwise retained.
9. Affiliate and third-party links
Chad may show links to retailers, products, videos, or other third-party websites. Clicking a third-party link takes you to a service governed by that third party's privacy practices. Some product links may be affiliate links through which Hammered Handyman Media can receive compensation for qualifying purchases.
10. How long we keep information
We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing your account and saved projects, maintaining security, resolving disputes, and meeting legal obligations. Guest conversation data may be subject to shorter retention periods than signed-in account data. Account data and saved conversation history may remain until you delete your account or the information is otherwise no longer required, subject to limited retention where reasonably necessary for security, legal, backup, or compliance purposes.
11. Security
We use administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect personal information. Current measures include protected password hashing, hashed authentication/session tokens, secure browser cookies, server-side access controls, rate limiting, bot protection, and access-controlled account operations. No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
12. Your choices and access
Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may request access to personal information we hold about you, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, ask questions about our handling practices, withdraw optional consent, export available account information, or request deletion. Chad also provides account controls for certain export and deletion functions.
To make a privacy request or complaint, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
13. Account deletion
When you use the account-deletion feature, we will delete or de-identify account information and account-owned conversation information as provided by the Service, subject to information we must or reasonably need to retain for legal, fraud-prevention, security, backup, or dispute-resolution purposes.
14. Data breaches
If a security incident involving personal information occurs, we will assess and respond to it in accordance with applicable legal requirements, including notification and reporting obligations where required.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Chad P.D. Chee evolves. We will update the effective date when revisions are made. If a material change requires additional notice or consent under applicable law, we will take appropriate steps before applying the new use.
